Stained Concrete Floors

Experienced homeowners are of the opinion that stained concrete floors are extremely difficult to handle and maintain. Whenever you pull off the upper covering the concrete flooring will tell you a dirty story altogether. Thus before embellishing the floors with chemical stains, they require a proper and thorough cleaning. Stained concrete floors get dirty due to carpet glue, tile mastics, water and urine stains, chalk marks, caulk, grease stains, paint drips and rust spots. Staining contractors have realized that dealing with concrete stained floors is indeed a strenuous job.

In case of chemically stained floors, it is very difficult to cover up the various undesirable marks and scratches. Even after proper re-coloring and re-modeling of the concrete stained flooring the marks and patches are quite discernable. You have to be very careful when the cleaning process is in progress because a slight negligence may change the entire after effect of the stained concrete floor. The signs of poor and sub standard cleaning of the concrete floors will become quite apparent once the final sealer and wax is applied.

The curing membranes with which the concrete floors come in contact during commercial projects are very difficult to get rid off. The chances of contamination and degeneration are more customary in professional areas in comparison to domestic environments. The curing membrane destroys the color of the stained concrete floor making it look dull and shine less.

Many people have the idea that before the actual tinting is done the concrete floors need to be etched with acid so that the paint may persist for a longer period of time. However, in this case the consequence will be worse because acid washing diminishes the lime content affecting the quality of stained concrete floors. Concrete floors can also be remodeled with acid stains to improve the color and texture of the floors and protect them from several outrageous elements.
