Calculate accurately the number of rubber floor tiles you will require according to the dimensions of the floor space to be covered with tile flooring. Care must be taken to lay the tiles precisely and neatly to give your room a finished look. Follow the instructions provided by the manufacturer carefully and take care to lay the first tile correctly, as its position will determine the position of all the other tiles in the room. Use the appropriate adhesive recommended for the installation – while some tiling systems require flooring adhesive, others require contact adhesive or self-adhesive techniques. Do not pressure-fit the joints as these rubber tiles have a natural expansion factor. After laying the tiles, a heavy roller must be rolled on the tiles diagonally in two directions to allow the tiles to bond
It is essential to remove old floor coverings completely before installation of rubber floor tiles. In places where rubber flooring is to be installed over existing Terrazzo, Ceramic or Quarry tiles, the old flooring must be abraded thoroughly to remove glaze and waxes. Any loose tiles must be removed; grout lines and other empty spaces will require filling with an approved commercial floor fill material.
