Coin Textured Rubber Flooring


Flooring of synthetic rubber with anti-skid features is also called coin textured rubber flooring. It was originally developed for industrial and commercial applications but has been found useful for homes and other commercial areas. Synthetic rubber flooring is hardwearing, resilient, quiet, warm, comfortable for walking on and easy to clean – but it is not so cheap (For cheaper flooring look here).

Coin textured rubber flooring comes both as sheets and as tiles and many of these are provided with non-skid rubber backing. Most textured rubber floors are chemical and weather resistant and have anti-static and non-conducting properties. They are designed for easy removal of sand, soil, salt, snow and many more

Textured rubber is easy to cut and lay, even in awkward positions. Some rubber floors come with interlocking edges, borders and corners. While other textured rubber floors are provided with contact adhesive and are to be fixed with floor adhesive. Common thicknesses range from 3/8” to 5/8”.

Flooring of synthetic rubber is in wide use outside entrances to buildings, inside stores, offices, schools, industrial buildings, health clubs and gyms, locker rooms, ice arenas, exercise and play areas and in garages and other heavy traffic areas in the house. Cleaning of textured rubber is usually done by sweeping, shaking and hosing.

Some rubber floors are bacteria resistant and non-marking type. Heavy duty textured and ribbed rubber floors for gym use absorb much of the prevailing shock and noise. They are highly durable and are resistant to spikes and blades. These textured rubber floors do not split, tear, wrinkle or crack and require very little maintenance.

Depending on the quality required, textured rubber floors might be molded either from high-grade premium rubber or from recycled rubber. Flooring of synthetic rubber comes in many colors, popular ones being Midnight Black, Forest Green, New Sandstone, Slate Grey, Racing Blue and Brick red.
